Advocacy

FIT takes the issues shared by residents within the community, and developed through public education and community research, to advocate for change in unjust and oppressive policies and process.   Sometimes individuals find themselves, facing eviction, or with a child facing a suspension, of discontinued Special diet allowance, we know that it can be difficult to get support in addressing these issues, which can make life very difficult when unsettled.  FIT provides advocacy support for many issues, with the main focus being to address the issue, raise awareness, improve processes and educate the individual(s), to build their capacity to in turn advocate for themselves in the future.
